DLTV stopped in beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico, to visit Cathy Roe. In this episode DLTV goes behind the scenes as we tour Cathy’s state-of-the-art production studios and hear her story of success as a teacher and as an entrepreneur running one of the largest video production companies in the world. She is also the director of her own national competition company. Cathy shares her frank insights into the competition world and offers inspiring words on what dance means to her.

What an inspiring video. We just returned from a competition, utterly discouraged. We do traditional theater tap, and the judges didn’t even understand what we were doing. One criticized our “pullbacks” and didn’t know enough to realize they were DRAWBACKS. Sigh.
The big winners were the ones with the floor humping, hair tossing, and “crotchments”. EVERYTHING looked like lyrical whether it was in the Jazz section, the Ballet section, etc.
On the plus side, we had mothers and fathers thank us for showcasing real technique in modest costumes that did not exploit their daughters.
We will check out Cathy’s competition next year!
Cathy is wonderful to work with. My Daughter Madison has had the opportunity to work with Cathy at regional and national dance competitions. She has even had the opportunity to be in one of her Dance Spectaculars and an Instrutional video. Cathy has inspiried many young dancers. Thank you for all you have done for my daughter and many others……
