Ajkun Ballet Performs Classics in NYC Before Heading Abroad
Ajkun Ballet’s spring season includes performances of classics such as Don Quixote and The Sleeping Beauty in select New York theaters, followed by an international performance tour of Italy, Albania, and Australia.
New York City performances include:
- Don Quixote, May 5 to 7, City Center, with choreography by Chiara Ajkun after Alexander Gorsky
- Goya—The Spanish Master, May 26 to 28, MMAC Theater, world premiere with choreography by Leonard Ajkun
- “The Face To Face Series,” August 17 and 18, City Center, with choreography by Chiara Ajkun and Ellen Sinopoli
- The Sleeping Beauty, August 19, a new full-length production with choreography by Chiara Ajkun after Marius Petipa, Hostos Theater for Arts and Culture.
Also at the Egg Center for the Performing Arts in Albany, New York, on August 9 the ballet will present a free event suitable for all ages, “Matinee with the Dancers,” with a performance of The Sleeping Beauty on August 13. On its international tour, the ballet will present The Sleeping Beauty in Albania in June, Don Quixote in Italy in July, and a mixed bill in September in Australia.
