The Peridance Capezio Center in New York will host two benefit performances April 17 and 18 to support the PeriChild Ensemble, a non-profit outreach youth dance company that works to cultivate creativity, individuality, confidence, and self-respect in its members.
Among the artists presenting works (in addition to the PeriChild Ensemble) will be: the Steffi Nossen Dance Company, the 92nd Street Y’s Harkness Repertory Ensemble, the Dancewave Company, Young Dance Collective, the Sean Curran Company, the Professional Studies Program at the Limón Institute, the Baila Society, de funes dance company, and Igal Perry.
The performances will be held at the center’s Salvatore Capezio Theatre, 126 East 13th Street. Tickets ($20 for adults, $12 for youths) will be available at the door. For details, visit www.peridance.com.
Also, the center has added these faculty members for April: Korhan Basaran, intermediate and advanced contemporary; James Kinney, intermediate and advanced theater dance; Derek Mitchell, intermediate contemporary lyrical (jazz); Saba, beginning modern; Lauren Tepper, yoga; and Jose Traba, advanced-beginner ballet.
